A Saree - the Indian fashion statement!

All the traditional forms and styles are being universally adopted and new designs are

being constantly invented to captivate the style-loving women all over the world and so are the sarees !

The sarees have made deep inroads into fashion today with people exploring new fashion statements

about this Indian garment. It is because of its sensuality that a saree has grabbed attention since time

immemorial. A saree makes a woman look elegant, gorgeous and stylish. There are various exciting

craftsmanship is not only limited to the final product i.e. the saree but also in the space in which they

are produced. The houses of craftsmen are example of vernacular architecture, where the architecture

has evolved over a large span of time. The Plan of a weaver’s house developed from the livelihood

needs of the inhabitants. Built from local materials and available technology, they aptly cater to the

needs of the craftsmen. Thus, the craftsmanship is the main key in the world of elegance.

the saree types. Silk is the most loved fabric, and is considered absolutely grand. Rightfully,

an Indian woman’s wardrobe or wedding trousseau is incomplete without silk sarees. 

Silk Sarees are a part of every special occasion in India. They are worn on weddings, and are

gifted on key events. They are even treasured and saved for generations. During weddings,

mothers, grandmothers, grooms gift rich, heirloom silk sarees, along with the wedding jewels.

Considered as sacred and auspicious, silk sarees are even offered to the revered Goddesses and

to respectable women relatives. Such is the importance of silk sarees in India! This tradition may
